What great fun I had my sister-in-law's wedding this weekend. We have put a lot of planning and effort into it and it was great to see it come to fruition on Friday. The sealing itself was beautiful and of course had some humor to it, as it would have to with Andy answering the question from the sealer, "what career do you want to have?" with, "uh, basketball player?"
The two families blended so well together, both fun-loving and kind. The reception was one of the most fun I've ever been too... possible even more fun than my own, though I hate to admit it! There was dancing from the very beginning, followed by a song written for the bride on the fly. You can't forget the two pinatas and even fireworks! It was also Andy's sister's birthday, so they sang every birthday song from the children's songbook for her.

God's Job is Parenting
I've been thinking today about how little we know about things before we seek out to learn them. Specifically, parenting doesn't come naturally. We have to LEARN how to do it. It takes training and practice and failures and successes just as any other skill does. It is a principal that we will need to understand in order to be the Gods and Goddesses we are intended to become. Heavenly Father's whole purpose and power comes from loving us and the love we return to him. Parenting is what being a God is all about. Wow. This little bit of insight I received this morning is inspiring me to take things on in a new way and I want to learn to love parenting. I love my children dearly, but I need to learn to love teaching them in the ways they need to grow.
