Let him down easy, girl!

Lincoln's class has been practicing writing letters. He brings me sweet notes on this paper that say things like "I love you mom. I hope your having a good day." Sometimes he'll bring a note from a friend in class or the teacher. The day after Valentine's day he brought this home and just handed it to me. He had no comment about it, but Lili's mom and I sure enjoyed sharing it.

I See You!

It has been a rough start to my new working career with someone in the house having some form of sickness for several weeks in a row, but mother nature was kind enough to keep most of the rest of the world cozy at home as well, so we weren't much out of the loop. It is wonderful to have Harrison smiling and laughing... and eating... and SLEEPING again. [he loves to play peek-a-boo out the back of his high chair]

Last week we had two ER visits - Jackson was really scaring me with a croupy cough. It usually doesn't scare me, but it seemed worse than ever before and we couldn't fix it with the moist air cures. He perked right back up in the hospital once his steroids kicked in. They kept him for observation for a couple of hours and we were surprised when someone came in and said that he was taking him up for a CAT scan. I was so confused, but followed him as he wheeled Jackson's bed down the hall, up the elevator and around the bend to the machine. The CAT scan guys looked at us confused and said, "which one of you is the patient?" I pointed at Jackson and said, "he's the one in the bed!" They said, "he sure doesn't look 38!" They had confused us with another room. We didn't mind... it was a fun adventure during our boring wait to get out of there!

Two days later Lincoln developed a double ear infection which made him just miserable. He was able to get to sleep, but woke up screaming so I knew he needed some relief. This time Jeff took him and he has felt much better ever since.

It felt so nice to get back to a regular schedule today. Crossing my fingers that it lasts!

Happy ValenBirthday Jackson!

Jackson as a part of the mama smothered in boy love.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Valentine boy.

We had an elaborate Star Wars party in the works, but opted to join in with the big family birthday party last Saturday and had just as much fun. Tonight we tried to go to Incredible Pizza/Lido/whatever... but it is in the process of remodeling and changing to a whole new name. Jeff and I had joked about saying that it was closed tonight so we wouldn't have to go there. We decided we'd better take him since it was his choice for dinner and then felt bad when it really WAS closed. He chose Vietnamese instead and we ate until everyone grew sleepy and went to bed early. A dreamy Valentine's night.

I guess I should go and cuddle up with my other Valentine now that their all snug in bed! I like him bunches too.
