Pure Excitement

Why is Jackson wearing two different outfits in his "first day of school" pictures? He has been so crazily excited about going to school that he has been asking to take his backpack everywhere and telling everyone he can about his "two" school. He even practiced taking his first day of school picture yesterday. He has been BEGGING to go to school since day one of Lincoln's school so I found him a little mother's day out program one day a week. Today is FINALLY his first day and he couldn't be happier.

When Lincoln headed out the door for school he was ready to go too, unfortunately his school starts an hour and a half later. It wasn't a possibility for us to wait that out in the house, he was practically in the car as soon as he could be, so I distracted him for that LONG hour of waiting by taking him to the park. We had a really fun time there together and then it was really TIME to go to school!

He was nervous for about two seconds when he saw other kids crying, but found something to play with right away and wasn't the least bit worried when I told him I'd be back after his nap to pick him up.

I admit to be excited about my "day off" too, I thought I'd have lots of free time to do work things, but now that it's here I realize I really only have one hour without a child because of the start time being so late and Lincoln getting out of school so early. Oh well. It's really for him. I'm excited for him to have this chance to interact with other kids and be all grown up and ready for "two" school.
He wanted to make sure I had a picture on the first day of school too...

"Mom, now you wear mine packpack, me take picture."
It's full of all of the first day things you take to school, so he could barely hold it - it was nearly as heavy as he is!

Feeling Better

Thanks for everyone's well wishes for Lincoln. He was feeling much better yesterday and got to go back to school. It was so nice to be outside again and we spent the afternoon in the front yard playing soccer and working on the garden. It was time to pull down the ivy on the front of the house as it was getting up to the roof. The boys wanted to use my "wire cutters" (must've learned that term from dad) so I had to help them differentiate between what could be cut and what needed to be left alone. They were both very helpful and loved playing with the big long vines after we cut them down. I'm so glad to see Lincoln back to himself again!

Sick and Busy and Nothing to Blog.

I feel like it is time to post something, and I haven't taken any pictures for a whole week. That's pretty crazy for me. Whoa. Christine's gone wild. No pictures.

Lincoln has been sick with a fever since Saturday afternoon. He finally seems to be getting better today. He just slept pretty much all of the time until yesterday. Yesterday he still lay there all day, but today he is actually up and playing and acting like himself again. Poor little guy.

I've been busy working on my preschool, some vinyl designs for a friend, seminary preparations and playing with the kids and the neighbor kids (they are so sweet).

So here I am blogging about how I have nothing to blog about. Still, I feel the need to do it since it is my journal of what is happening with us.
