The next day I headed down to Provo to help my aunts get ready for the family barbecue that night. We put lots of delicious dishes together and I made signs for the park. It felt a little strange (and admittedly refreshing) to be completely kid free and able to do as I pleased. My way of rebelling was to spend 15 minutes and $30 at Ross while I was out getting the signs made, balloons, and posts for the signs. I know - pretty crazy, right? I know it's silly, but I have been missing Ross... I ended up going to another one the next day when I found myself out and about near one again. Mom gone wild.
It was really nice catching up with my aunts all day. I definitely wished my parents could have been there as well. My time at the barbecue was fairly short and I didn't do a great job of taking pictures while I was there because I wanted to talk to everyone as much as possible. Pam asked me to join her at an art fundraiser that she was participating in. Lots of artists did their work on plates that were displayed by number. Everyone had a chance to look at them for about an hour (not us because we arrived late) and then they called out wristband colors. Once your wristband is called you have three minutes to go in and purchase the artwork for the price it is numbered. It was a little like winning the lottery if your wristband was called early on and you had all of the options that you wanted. It was a fun thing to take part in.
After our wristbands had been called (a little late in the game) we met up with Jerry at Corey and Liz's place. I was happy for the chance to see their home and chat late into the night with them. We all met up again the next morning at the Oquirrh Temple for the sealing. I was quite early so I took some time to do a bit of temple work, which is always nice! It set the tone for my day and helped me really appreciate the fact that I was in such a great place with wonderful family members. We don't have much opportunity to do that together!
