Grumbles

The past few days I've had a lot of mixed signals from my tummy and my baby.

"I'm hungry," they would say.

I would feed them, and then they would quickly dispense with their contents.

"I'm happy again," they would say... and then "I think I could eat again."

Then they'd change their minds once more.

Don't Wanna Grow Up

Jackson: Mom, when you gonna stop being an adult?

Me: Once you are an adult you never go back to being a kid.

Jackson: I don't want to be an adult

Me: Why not?

Jackson: I don't know how to drive a car.
Well, I do know how to use a steering wheel... like this [pretends to turn a wheel back and forth] and if you just want to go straight you just hold it... but I don't know how to stop.

Fun with the Kids

I wrote a whole post on this before, but I feel like such a new person and I'm enjoying life so much more than I have in a long time. Here we are making goofy faces for the camera for Lincoln and playing in the rain. We've been doing a lot of things that I just hadn't had the energy for and it feels great!

Getting So Big!

Here is a fairly recent picture of Harrison, though I think he's even chubbier already. It is amazing how quickly babies change! This was taken on Feb 26 (Happy Birthday Marna!). His favorite thing is to lay flat on his back, especially if he has something interesting to look at. He LOVES the mobile in his crib and the changing table. He seems to be happier there than when being held. Having had babies in the past who wanted to be held all of the time, this is a welcome trait! He is making adorable cooing noises and smiling all of the time now. He hasn't really gotten into a regular schedule yet, but does have some nice long stretches most nights (anywhere from 5 to even 8 hours sometimes). He is holding his head and shoulders up well and loves to be on his tummy (my other boys did NOT like tummy time!). Keep up the great growing Harrison!

M.J.

The first cassette tape I owned was in kindergarten. Michael Jackson.

It is only appropriate then, that the first CD that Lincoln just got was also Michael Jackson. With all of the hype about him recently he has heard about him and has been asking to listen to his songs. He really likes Thriller. Today he asked me, "mom - why did M.J. write a song about zombies?"

I guessed, "I think it is for halloween."

He wondered then, "Does he have a song for Easter?"

I thought for a second and then started singing to him, "...change the world, make it a better place... for you and for me and the entire human race.."

He has picked up a few dance moves from watching the video. Next I'm hoping he'll figure out how to moonwalk. (I never could do anything like that).
