Lincoln was hungry. Really hungry. I kept telling him that he had to wait just a FEW more minutes for dad to get home and we would have dinner. Dad took longer to get home than I expected, so those few minutes of waiting felt like an eternity. I had heard the plea for food and the desperate hunger pain cries one time too many and I used the old adage, "you don't even know what hungry is. Did you know there are kids in the world who don't have any food?"
Things immediately changed.
"Really? We should share our food with them."
"Yes, we should."
"Let's invite them over for dinner."
"Well, they live too far away to come for dinner."
"Let's send them food in a box. I bet they would like some cocoa. We have 5 cocoas left so I'll give them four and we'll still have one. "
He immediately started packing up a box. It was so tender to watch. Anyone know someone in need of 5 packs of cocoa? I bet he would even throw in a box of Mac and Cheese.
My friend Laurie is having a contest. It is all about being first and I think I have a good chance because it JUST popped up in my google reader. Lucky me? Maybe it will help if I brown nose a little and post the business card that I designed for her and link to her Etsy shop and her blog.
