Yelly

This morning I wanted to bring a treat to my seminary students. They specifically requested sausage biscuits earlier in the week and I thought I'd give that a go. I drove up to the drive-thru squawk box, where I often wonder how many times I'll have to repeat my order as my soft voice doesn't always carry.

"Seven sausage biscuits please."

"You wan' yelly?"

"SEVEN"

"yeah, you wan' yelly?"

[OH, he's asking if I want Jelly - not if I want to 'yell it']

LOL!

"uh, yeah, jelly please"

Red Rock Canyon

We joined the boy scouts for a campout this weekend with the Cooks. The dads needed to be there and spent a lot of time at the neighboring campsite with the boys while the moms and kids did a lot of our own thang. We had a great time with perfect weather and plenty of dirt and sticks and walls to climb for the kids. We tried really hard to have a nice "campfire" moment while we sat around our smoking logs (not so much a fire anymore). We let the kids tell a few stories and we attempted some sing-a-longs, but we didn't get a whole lot of participation from the kiddos. Jackson had zero interest in sitting down and everyone (except Jaycee) seemed more interested in flashlights and sticks. Oh well, we tried.

We had a really fun hike in the morning through the bamboo reeds and up into the canyon a bit. Jackson's favorite part was the "scary" part when we had to get back down the cliff in rock climber fashion. Dad joined us for the hike so we felt confident we could get everyone down safely.
