I am a bit in denial that summer is here. I think it simply isn't hot enough to feel like summer. I am not complaining a bit... the weather is amazing. I have been seeing pictures online of kids swimming and such and it just doesn't feel like swimming weather here. My birthday came and went and the kids are still in school. That doesn't feel normal either!
They actually have one more half day before school is officially out, but we are stealing them away early to go camping with our neighbors. I am excited to do some fun things with the kids and teach them to fold and put away their own laundry. Big dreams, right?
Yesterday after school they made a little club outside in the landscaping. They set up chairs and a makeshift table. They stayed there playing a talking together for such a long time. I decided to let them eat their dinner there... letting them order some leftovers from the fridge and delivering it as if I were their waitress. They are lousy tippers.
