Daddy's Boy

Harrison has always been a big fan of his dad's, but today he would not leave his side. Jeff was out working in the garage when it was time for him to eat lunch. He was hungry, but wouldn't eat in his chair because dad was outside. Jeff made him a little chair out of a box and a table out of a bucket he was able to eat once he was with dad again. At first I was annoyed that he wouldn't eat inside, but then I thought about just how sweet it was and decided to capture that moment.

This morning Harrison and I were the only ones in the kitchen when breakfast was ready. I had set everything on the table and put food on his plate while I went to gather everyone else. When I came back he had put food on my plate for me and was waiting for everyone. This kid is a definite keeper.

Almost Two

The terrible two's are fast approaching and Harrison is working up some crazy stuff. He does have to keep up with the reputation of the Poyner brothers after all.

He recently pushed the stool up to the refrigerator and found it quite entertaining to push and let the fridge water run down. This must have gone on for quite some time - what a puddle! Having been through this twice before I am both terrified and excited to see what he'll come up with next.

Jeff love: Lincoln had a bit of a rough day today so Jeff took him out for some one on one time in the evening. They had a good talk and set some goals. That also left Jackson and I with some one on one time after we put Harrison to bed and we made that pie that he was wanting to make with the apples from our tree.

The Apple Tree

Somehow we never noticed that one of our trees is an apple tree. Jackson made the discovery this week (good timing as they are studying apples at school) and managed to get every single apple out of the tree. He could only reach a few of them (they were not plentiful), so he climbed up into the tree to grab a few more and then shook every branch until they all fell off. He is determined to make an apple pie now. They are a little sour, but still quite tasty. He says they are the best apple he ever tasted.
