I was admittedly dreading the upcoming snow day because I had been under the weather and super busy, but I woke up feeling better and we had a really fun day. The boys spent much of the morning making clues for each other "Blue's Clue's" style, putting paw prints on things and drawing pictures in a little notebook. They even sat in a "thinking chair" to figure out the connection among three items. We haven't watched that show in ages... I'm not sure where it came from, but it was a lot of fun.
We were warned not to go out because of the bitter cold and fierce winds, but decided to brave it for about 10 minutes after we were all geared up in our ski clothes. We even went back inside for the goggles because it was miserable having the wind in our faces. The wind really adds a unique spin to a snow day with all of the neat looking drifts and bringing snow into the house somehow through the two doors! We especially had a lot of snow in the garage... sneaking in through any little hole it could find. Our most impressive drift is the one Lincoln is pointing to outside of our kitchen window. It got up "as tall as his mouth."
For breakfast I made waffles, we pulled out the raclette for a special lunch, had hot cocoa of course, and made warm chili and cornbread for dinner. We really missed having Jeff here with us as he is off in Dallas for a business trip.
