I Like It Boys

My mom recorded in my baby book that one of my first phrases as a child was "I like it boys." Apparently I knew very early on that boys were on my good side. Although I have had a little mourning period upon learning that there is no baby girl in my future, I am getting very excited to have three boys. I admit to dreading the potty training part of another boy (this is NOT fun), there are a lot of things to be really excited about and I am anxious to see him and discover his little personality. I have felt him moving inside for quite a while, but it is getting more frequent and I can always tell when he is awake now. Jeff even felt him move a few days ago when I told him that he was being active.

Kindergarten

Lincoln has been in kindergarten for a week now and is starting to get the hang of things. He was so excited on his first day, but came home disappointed that he didn't get to play with all of the toys right away. He doesn't give us much feedback about his day... we are lucky if he'll tell us what he had for lunch. It is so hard to read whether or not he is enjoying it because I have no idea what questions to ask. One day he did mention something about workstations, so I ask about those now. Today he said, "yes, we did workstations. I don't want to tell you about it." So informative! We have parent orientation tomorrow night, so I'm hoping to at least find out some better questions to ask.

I know that it is impossible to really know what he's been up to all day because I've watched him respond to his dad at the end of a day. It doesn't matter what we've done - something huge and exciting or something small and mundane - it is hard to get a good response without the right questions to prompt his memory!

This picture was taken on his first day. It was rainy so we couldn't take the classic sunny day in front of the school picture. In the van will have to do!
