We briefly hit the beach
And toured several local wineries.
The cherry trees were in bloom all through the area - just beautiful!
In the meantime, texts started coming through giving my warnings of imminent tornado threats at home
(on both days). The first day it came just before we got to the beach and then we were out of cell phone range. I think I stayed reasonably calm. I had a little guilt (and a lot of gratitude) that Jeff had such a crazy Sunday (took the kids to church by himself, taught a lesson for someone, took the kids to my mom's to take shelter from the tornado, and took Lincoln to the urgent care!)
The next day I got the texts earlier in the day and called to make sure that Jeff was watching the weather. He told me that he was with Lincoln (who stayed home that day) in Moore at Kim's house. I was worried about Jackson and Harrison on the other side of town and kept an eye on the texts as they came. Jeff kept in contact as best as he could, but I was a lot more worried. We got word that a terrible tornado had hit in Moore. I tried to get all of the information I could through facebook. I learned that my family was ok, but worried about others. Since I've been home we have been able to do some clean up and support. I'm sure we'll have lots of opportunities for the next few months.
