Overheard Conversation

Jackson: Ooh, me boo boo

Lincoln: That's not a boo boo, boo boo's are red.

Jackson: oh.

Lincoln: That's a nickel. Nickels are brown.

Me jumping in: Lincoln, are you thinking of a freckle?

Lincoln: laughing, oh... yeah, freckle.

[They proceeded to search their bodies for more spots worth identifying when suddenly....]

Lincoln: Wow. This ones isn't a freckle or a boo boo. It's a pogo dot.

Mom's Corner of Earth

Outside at my parents house tonight we were talking about what a beautiful little corner of the earth they live in. I love that they have such a relaxing and lovely place to spend their time. My mother does a wonderful job at keeping a garden and I love learning from her. Her flowers are just beautiful. I took these pictures today. They also live on a small lake where we often feed the ducks and geese and giant catfish. It is so relaxing and peaceful to sit out on their dock or take a ride in their kayak. Now I'm starting to sound like a vacation advertisement, but it really does feel like vacation to visit!

Grandmas to the Rescue!

What an amazing weekend for Grandmas! Jeff's mom (and dad too!) kept both of my boys for a full 24 hours while I attended a meeting in Stillwater to prepare for the upcoming seminary year. I got to have an evening off, during which I worked on a few of many many design projects going right now and mostly cleaned my messy room! I never thought I could be so excited to clean my room, but boy was I happy to do it! The boys had such a great time at Granny and Papas house swimming and playing with cousins. They didn't want to come home!

Last night I had a terrible headache and felt very sick in the night. I couldn't sleep for most of the night, so I was exhausted today. The boys were full of energy and I had none. Grandma to the rescue. We spent the afternoon and evening with my mom (and brother some). She let me rest for a little while and then we all had a really nice time playing together and enjoying the beautiful weather. The boys did not want to come home from Grandmas house either.

It is wonderful to have such great women as role models - and helpers. I love you guys! And these boys adore you.
