I am really enjoying watching the bugs and frogs and things just as much as the boys do. There are about a million butterflies out in the grasses and I love to just sit and watch them flutter from flower to flower. In my old environment, I would have considered that stuff "weeds," but here it is a place for the wildlife to flourish.
Lincoln found a "crab" the other day, I knew right away of course that we don't have crabs in Oklahoma... so it was simple to figure out from his description that it was a scorpion. We had a little lesson about scorpions and how we don't get to take them home with us. I made them leave the area, but he kept wanting to go back and catch it. Eeek!
We had a really exciting day yesterday as well... Jeff's brother Spencer came home from his mission. I've never seen such a to-do at the airport. Gail made all kinds of posters and hung them from pool noodles with pinwheels on them. She bought the kids noise makers and even rolled out a "red carpet." We got a lot of crazy stares! It was a lot of fun and we are all so glad to have him home. What a welcome!
