Lincoln's Favorite Foods

Lincoln has been making a book nearly every day during his free time at school. Many of them involve pirate ships, knights, dragons and friends from school. He is learning about book structure and likes to include chapters, etc. This is the first one I've seen with a different color cover and I thought I'd share and photograph it as a keepsake. We're definitely going to have to work on the spelling of oranges. If there is anything you can't decipher, the favorite foods are: strawberries, vanilla ice cream, Laffy Taffy's (banana flavored), Tootsie Rolls, oranges, cantaloupe, mac and cheese(s), blueberries and broccoli. You've got to love that it ends with "I love you. Pow. You hit me. Bad man."

I'll have to post more books of his. His drawings are often quite good and if you let him, he'll tell you why every detail is there and what story is going on behind it.

Change

Every time a season has changed since Lincoln was born I've been amazed at how grown up my boys look in their opposite season apparel.

Wow! Look how grown up he looks in shorts. Holy cow... you've grown up so much since you wore long pants last! Aren't you cute and big in shorts again. Dad and Harrison pulled one over on me this week with another big boy haircut. This is already his third haircut and he has actually grown the curls back each time, so it is so hard for me to let them go! Jeff had him on Saturday while I took Jackson to a birthday party and he came back all grown up looking. Apparently I'm only taking pajama pictures this month, but here are the best before and after shots I currently have.

The boys have been full of energy and excitement as they sense the school year's close. I'm a little nervous about how it's all going to come together with my big plans of getting in some "school" time each day, still working and fitting in lots and lots of fun, but I'm really excited to spend my days with these guys.

I have been a bit overwhelmed with house work since I started working, but I'm learning to organize better and demand more of the rest of the household. I used to just ask the boys to clear their plates, but we've been having them stick around to get more cleaned up lately. Last night I even had Jackson washing dishes while Lincoln dried and put them away. That's a huge step and they are ready and capable of handling it. Hmmm, what else can I get them to do?!
