Mormon Tabernacle Choir Concert
A giant thanks to my parents for the birthday tickets to the MoTab concert we went to on Saturday! We went together with them and expected to see lots of familiar faces in the place, which we did, but our biggest surprise was the faces in the row RIGHT in front of us... Jeff's parents, sister Amy and cousins! Calculate the odds on that! It was such a delight to hear the choir and orchestra perform all kinds of things that you would never hear at general conference. They did songs from around the world, my favorite being an African one (even with a little bit of choreography-kind of amazing to see all 300 of them moving in the same rhythm). I was most moved by their rendition of Come Thou Fount, which is not surprising since I LOVE that song- and we just sang the same arrangement (not comparably well I'd guess!) for a special meeting of temple workers a few months ago. It was a terrific evening and I'm so glad we were able to be a part of it.
