It was wonderful to visit with my grandparents and just be together. They are so loving and kind. They care so much about all of the people in their lives. The days were very peaceful and full of good food and good company. I always enjoy road trips with my dad as well and was grateful to have an opportunity to do that again. We had lots of trips to Utah and back during my college days and it was fun to relive that a little bit.
During a road trip you always see some crazy things. This time I saw several things in the restrooms that I'd never seen before. #1 - two toilets in one room with no divider. Weird. #2 - a machine where you can put in a quarter and get a squirt of an off-brand perfume. #3 - A sign taped to the mirror: "DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. Wash your hands at your own risk." I'm not sure what is riskier - washing, or not washing. I opted for asking the lady if she had any hand sanitizer. I suggested that they put some in the restroom if they are going to have a sign like that. She said, "they didn't tell me to do that. They only told me to put up the sign." My personal opinion, a little initiative would be ok in this instance.
