We have been pretty quiet around here since the holidays have come and gone. We are getting back into our routine, which is changing just a bit, and have been enjoying some down time.
Our holiday baking didn't really work out this year. I had big
plans... I even wrote a poem to go along with our give-away plates. I braved chocolate dipped pretzels with the boys one afternoon - with plenty of reminders to keep fingers out of mouths. It wasn't an easy task, but still fun and then... Lincoln got sick that night. So our gift to all of those we made tons and tons of chocolate covered pretzels for was that we didn't share the sickness and they all ended up in the garbage. My other big plan was to make our traditional candy cane cookies with John and Bettina while they were in town. They too caught bugs and cookies were no longer in the plans. Since I had already bought the stuff and even already crushed the candy canes the boys and I had a post new year's Christmas cookie event. They were so much fun to work with this year. They had lots of creative ideas. We ended up using cookie cutters for a lot of the shapes and they thought that was great.We've had a few warm days recently and have enjoyed the chance to play outside. On cold days we've gotten pretty addicted to one of our new xbox games. All of us. Even me. Maybe especially me.
