She's Waitin' for the Ketchup

One day last week we were doing speed Sam's. We divided up our very short list and the children and it was a race to get back to the checkout. I quickly found 1 of my 2 items, but was DISTRACTED (this is usually a Jeff word) by the people from Heinz standing in the aisle. They told me if I bought this ketchup I could have anything I wanted printed on the label. I thought it was a clever enough ploy and bought into it, despite my need for speed. They told me they would be so fast that by the time I found my one other item they would be looking for me to deliver the ketchup. Before I could turn to go and get my item, though, I was caught. Here came dad and Jackson, saying "Where is mom?"

Well, she is waitin' for the ketchup.

Was it worth it? I dunno, but it is a fun story and it is fun to have personalized ketchup - even if I did lose the Sam's speed race.

Fun in the Front Yard

We have a huge maple tree in the backyard and thus a million of it's little "helicopter" seeds all over the place right now. The boys and I were having a great time yesterday throwing them up in the air to watch them spin down. Dad taught them to sweep them up into a pile and send bunches of them up at once so we got some intense sweeping pictures! I am also experimenting with a function on my camera which picks up some color in a black and white image. Notice that the broom, strawberries and house show up in color in the first picture. I could never get it to pick up just the orange shirts, so I did one that way myself in photoshop (last picture).

Sleep Talker

Jeff has always been a sleep talker. I used to remember all of the crazy things he would say in his sleep so that I could tell him in the morning. When he was doing technical support he was almost always trying to help someone through a problem. After a while, I got more used to it and I could just tell him to go back to sleep and forget what he said.

Last night though, this cracked me up and I actually had a hard time going back to sleep because I was laughing so much. He patted me on the shoulder to tell me, "now that we have the key, what we have here is a key-lime situation."

Sounds serious. You just have to wonder what was going on in the rest of thee dream!

Baby Animals

Jeff was reading a book about baby animals with Jackson today and Jackson was doing pretty well recognizing and naming everything. "Duck, dog, pig, tiger, deer..." and then they came to the picture of the baby gorilla and what does he say? "Mine. Webkinz."
