Jackson is officially two and I'm feeling it! I can't believe that I'd forgotten what it's like to have a two year old. I remember feeling three messes behind Lincoln and it is beginning to get that way again. Last night while I was making dinner (homemade pizza with great new crust recipe) Jackson managed to open and spread around the pancake flour, dump half of the cheese on the floor, eat and spread a bunch of olives, etc.. I couldn't believe what a mess the kitchen had become in the space of 20 minutes... and I was right there next to him the whole time!Whew. This time around I have a little more experience and a lot more hope. It is also helping me to see that Lincoln has sure come a long way!
It has got to be difficult to have your eyes opened to so many new things and experiences and have such a desire to try it all when you're not really able (or allowed) to go for it. I am trying to have empathy with the two year old perspective while maintaining firmness. We will have to find lots of permissable ways to explore and have adventure. Wish me luck through my second round of the twos.
