What a Day!

The kids are home for spring break and I'm really enjoying them. I knew that it was a busy day, but didn't realize just how much I'd accomplished until I said it out loud to Jeff when he asked how my day was. I managed a short business meeting here at the house, 5 client calls (these are rare for me-and dreaded when there are children present!), 2 menu completions and still had time to play with each of the kids individually and collectively. I had a great chat with Aimee and created a calendar to help out aunt Barb. We had a great day!

A lot of people talked about how today is "pi" day on facebook. I briefly considered explaining that to the kids and making a pie to celebrate. Um, no. They're definitely not ready to understand pi and I certainly didn't have time (or ingredients?!) to make a pie. Happy pieless pi day!

Some more kid quotes:
Jackson: I just want lettuce and carrots on my salad. I don't want any coupons on there. (croutons)

Me: Why would you flick me in the face?
Lincoln: I didn't mean to. I want to rewind.

Harrison saw Jeff pull out the vacuum and immediately went for his popper and ran it back and forth over the carpet right alongside him. So cute!

More Kid Quotes

Me: Jackson, what do you want for a snack?
Jackson: Hmmm, cheesecake
Me: Well, that does sound good, but we don't have any and I'd like you to choose a healthy snack
Jackson: Well, is there anything else I can put whipped cream on?

Lincoln: Do you think it's easier to get left behind or to leave?
Me: Wow.
Jeff: I think it's easier to get left behind
Lincoln: You're wrong dad
Me: That is a pretty deep question... and it's really out of nowhere
[quiet... and then I hear the song on the radio - REM singing "it's easier to leave than to be left behind."]
Me: Oh, now I get it
Dad: HAHAHAHAHA
