Saying Goodbye

My grandpa, John Vincent Madison, passed away on the 5th. My mom and I flew out with Harrison to attend the services and be with the family. My grandpa was a fantastic person, very loving and giving and he will be greatly missed, especially by his sweet and amazing wife, Lois, who has been at his side for 64 years of marriage and 72 years together since junior high! Grandpa's humor and hugs are already greatly missed. As mom mentioned, it just doesn't feel right not having him around. I'm really pleased with how this picture of uncle Paul turned out with the slide show of grandpa in the background ending up with a sweet picture of both grandparents. I'm so glad I was able to be with the family and hear all of the stories told about he and grandma at the funeral. I am greatly blessed to come from a terrific group of people.

Happy 3rd of July

We celebrated the fourth on the third this year because of the fourth falling on a Sunday. We enjoyed a birthday party for Kim and Natalie Woodhouse in the morning and then had an impromptu popper party that evening. We had a few friends and family over for a quick and delicious meal and did some fun (for the kids) popper things. They were a giant confetti mess and definitely not the usual Poyner style celebration in which kids have to stay back!

Not Sleepy

When I moved him from this very uncomfortable looking spot onto a bed he woke up and declared, "I'm Not Sleepy!" Somehow, I'm just not believing that.
