Lincoln was asked to give the opening prayer in primary this morning. He asks to say nearly every prayer at home and is very accomplished at this task, so I wasn't too concerned, but went in to watch and see how he would do. I walked up with confidence and said, "Heavenly Father..." and then he heard himself in the microphone. He started giggling and then just blowing into the microphone to hear what that would do. He would blog and giggle, and then blow and giggle again. All the while a sweet and kind leader whispered an acceptable prayer into his ear. He tuned her out, blew and giggled some more. After what seemed like an hour, there was a pause. He turned to her and said, "I can say the prayer by my SELF!" Then he calmly turned and said a beautiful and appropriate opening prayer. I guess he just needed a few minutes to take in the sound of his own voice on the microphone.
