Harrison Comparison

I'm not sure why I feel the need to decide who Harrison looks like, other than the fact that it comes up so frequently in conversation. Many people say that he DEFINITELY looks like one or the other, so I keep trying to figure it out. One thing is for sure, the naked baby sitting up picture must be in his near future.

One more thing that is for sure... he has WAY more hair than previous babies at this age!

I'm in love with his fuzzy, curly noggin and it cracks me up that he gets a single little dred lock in one spot on the right side of the back of his little head. I'll painstakingly work it out, only to find it returned again the next day... and always in the same spot. Tooth number three has popped through on top and he's getting great at sitting up and rolling over. I keep finding him across the room from where I've set him down to play. A lego free floor rule is now in place. Wish me luck with that.

Seems Logical

Some good quotes from the kids lately:

J: I know how to get to Jesus. You just climb one really high mountain.

************

L: Guess who the brothers are in our family...
J: me, you and Harrison... and dad
L: Well, not dad
J: sometimes people call dad brother Poyner

************

J: I don't want to get any more check marks (on a behavior chart). I'll just wait and get my lego ship at Christmas.

************

J: I want one of those.
Me: Maybe you could ask for it for Christmas.
L: I know, maybe you could ask Jesus to tell Santa... then you'll get it faster.

Lincoln has been saying the sweetest heartfelt prayers lately too. It's so neat to see that. He has been grateful for our house so that we are protected from the storms and he has been asking for all of the sad people to find a way to be happy. [I secretly want to call on him every time to see what he will say next.]

Good Times with Good Friends

We had a great evening with Marna and her family and Heather and her family last Saturday. Everyone brought delicious food and the kids all got along splendidly. I kept going back and forth between hanging out with the adults (political conversation, anyone?) and trying to get some exercise in the pool and play with the kids.
