Enjoying Wisconsin Snow

We came home to just a couple of inches of snow and have been taking full advantage.  The kids sure outlast my energy for sledding (especially Jackson!).  They have spent both of our days off from school out in the backyard on the hill.  Good times!

Thai Night

We have a tradition of always getting together when Heather, Marna and I are in town - usually two or three times a year at Thanksgiving, Christmas and the 4th of July. Most of the time we end up at the same restaurant (and always at the same booth!) - a version of one of our favorites from growing up. It has changed locations, owners, names (multiple times) etc... but we still love it!  This year we invited our moms to join us.  What fun!  I treasure these friendships so dearly and love that we can jump right back in from when we last met and catch up from there. I am blessed to know and love these ladies!

Harrison's Birthday

 Lucky for Harrison we didn't spend his birthday driving as planned!  We were already in Oklahoma, so we put together an impromptu family party. We sent out a message to the family to meet us at our favorite Pho spot, but after a big lunch we opted for something simpler at Granny and Papa's.  We called everyone to make the change, but didn't call Spencer and Aimee.  We didn't realize they were already in town.  I hope they had a nice dinner out... but I still feel bad about it!

Jeff delivering Harrison's special order birthday cake.  I asked him what he wanted and he said, "sprinkle donut."  That sounded super simple! After striking out at three donut shops, we finally found one that was open and bought out the rest of their stash (for a great bargain price!), creating the tower of donuts cake.

What a big boy our 3 year old is!  In fact, he surprised all of us on our trip home when he asked to go to the bathroom in a restaurant and he was successful.  Time to train!... well, maybe after the move.  :)

Early

The Sunday before our Christmas trip the kids were asking if they could make a marble track out of toilet paper rolls and other odds and ends.  Jeff and I exchanged a glance and agreed to let them open an early Christmas present. I wish we could have captured Harrison's reaction on film... "This is awesome!!!"

We ended up leaving a day early as well in order to beat an oncoming storm.  We were still hit with a lot of high winds (this happened just before we got there) and snow, but nothing that was sticking.
