Jeff told me that he had to go to Austin for work and I was really jealous. I wanted to go down and visit John, Bettina, Alex and Julie, but the timing didn't seem quite right. Then we realized that it was Labor Day weekend and the kids were off both Monday and Tuesday. We had a busy day planned for both Saturday and Sunday with church responsibilities, so we opted to head down Sunday after (afternoon) church. We met up with John and Bettina the next morning at a science museum called the "Thinkery." It was a neat place - and our Oklahoma Science Museum passes worked there... bonus!
In this area the kids built a plane/bird and then got to shoot it off. They had different shapes for wings, etc. made out of foam. All of the boys really enjoyed it.
Outside there was a really fun climbing area that was labeled for kids 2-12.
Harrison begged me to go up in there with him, but I was worried I was too big. This is him telling me that he'll do it without me, but he is not going to have fun unless I go.
Lincoln enjoyed building dams with his dad.
In this area there was gym equipment that was probably meant for rolling around on. Instead, Harrison built a tornado shelter. Kid must be from Oklahoma or something.

John was nice enough to entertain Harrison with every toy in the garage one at a time. lol
In the afternoon I had a horrible migraine and had to just sleep to feel better. I was really mad to be left out of our visit for something so lame. I hardly ever get them and it was probably the worst I ever had. Aargh. At least I felt better by the end of the day.
Bettina made a little fake sneeze noise to make Julie smile. I thought it was so funny and I tried it too, but it really scared her. Felt bad, but thought that was funny too!

On the way back home today we stopped and had lunch with Grandpa Wakefield. The visit was short and a little crazy because the place was so loud and Lincoln was having trouble. We even tried to move outside, but it was even louder out there. It was really nice to see Grandpa nonetheless!
