Easter

I say it every year, but Easter is my favorite holiday, especially with the Poyner's.  It is all about enjoying time with family, requires little preparation and watching the kids enjoy the egg hunt is the best.  I've never done anything with the Easter Bunny. We don't even talk about him, we talk about the blessing it is to have a Savior who has given His life so that we can return to our Heavenly Father as resurrected beings that are free of sin.  Easter is all about rebirth and joy.

We have a tradition of emptying out all of our eggs and passing them on to next year's sucker who volunteers to fill them!  The kids all sit in the living room and sort candy and eggs.  It is always crazy and fun. This year there was en empty egg throwing battle and glowing balloons floating around.

Harrison was really loving throwing eggs at aunt Amy.

While Jeff and I worked with Aimee and Spencer in an excel sheet documenting our future finances, Jackson snuck out the back with the other boys and ended up like this.  How did I forget that you always need at least one extra pair of clothes at Granny and Papa's house?

Not everyone had a great time, poor Lincoln had one of his migraines after the egg hunt and spent some alone time in bed with cartoons and a bowl.  :(

Sarah's version of fun in the mud.  Pretty impressive!

The traditional Egg Dye

My kids are growing up.  I can't believe how stress free egg dying was this year.  I basically set it up and let them go to town. The big kids helped Harrison and did a great job.  They still enjoyed it, but it wasn't the same kind of joy that it used to be either. Jackson was quickly bored and ran off to ride his bike (his FAVORITE pass time lately).  Harrison was happy to mostly watch and put the occasional egg in the cup.

Truda

One other fun thing that happened during spring break was a quick visit with my friend Truda from high school.  She graduated a year before I did and we were close friends and did a lot of things together.  I give her credit for giving me the nickname Stine.  It was so great to sit and chat with her again.  She lives in Hong Kong, so it isn't easy to get together!  I found out that she lives in the same area as my uncle John, so maybe I'll get a chance to visit her one day.  It is on our to do list.

Spring "Break"

Most of our spring break was spent with one child sick, so we did a lot of just being home... which is pretty much the opposite of a break.  However, we did have one really fun day at Tiger Safari with Rose and Jade, Amy, Sarah and Jeffrey.  Sadly, Kim's family was at the dentist that day.
