Bubbles
The Yuck
We've had the yuck in our house all week. Jackson had it last week and just when we thought we were done with the yuck all of the rest of us came down with it. It is different for everyone, but there nonetheless. Lincoln ended up with the worst of it. On Tuesday he couldn't keep a single swallow, or even a few licks of an apple juice popsicle down. He sat completely lethargic in the same chair for the entire day, changing positions only to let go of his few swallows. We kept movies going for him to watch most of the day, but a few times I would find him staring at nothing for long periods. I started to worry about him being dehydrated and decided to take him to the ER. Once he was finally seen by the triage nurse (it was a very busy night at the ER) they prioritized him and he was the next one to get in... even though nearly everyone still in the waiting room was there when we got there. I'm especially grateful to the lady sitting across from us for getting us paper towels when they were quite needed. They filled him with IV fluids and I could see the moisture coming back into his lips and the skin on his face. It was so wonderful to see him coming back to himself, even as exhausted as he was. Yesterday he woke up happy and just like himself again, just with the sniffles. I'm actually happy to see sniffles when he is feeling well enough to be up and about again. I think we'll continue to take things easy and get all better for a while, but I think we are all on the mend.
