Madisons visit the Madisons

I drove out to Indianapolis with my parents and uncle Paul to visit my grandparents. We were able to stay at uncle Dave's house, but unfortunately he and his family weren't there. They were gone for spring break... wish we could have seen them. We had a lovely visit with grandma and grandpa though. Uncle Paul had just bought himself and iPad and the kids pooled for another for grandpa's birthday as well. We had a great time as a team setting it up for him with applications and photos and the like. He worked hard at mastering the crossword application. It is tricky not to drag the bottom of your hand across it, rather than touching just the area you need with your finger. We enjoyed several meals at the Marquette dining room and went out for dinner both nights (too much food - but so yummy!). It felt a little strange to have Arby's for Easter dinner as we were traveling. It was a lovely trip and a real break from my usual busy days. I'm so grateful for village of friends and family who helped take care of the boys at home so that Harrison and I could tag along.
Easter
The boys and I had a great time dying eggs together one evening last week. It is great to have them a little bit older, getting creative ideas and having such a fun time. I almost wished I'd made more eggs because it went by too quickly! Saturday we joined my parents for their annual neighborhood egg hunt. They've got it so well organized! The egg hunt itself lasted only about two minutes because there were so many people. The plastic eggs were empty, but you brought them to some nice folks at a table in exchange for a bag of treats (really good stuff too - no cheap candy here!). We hung out for a while at the park and enjoyed the beautiful day.
