Close To Old

Nearly all of us had a hair cut yesterday.  Lincoln told me that I should let my hair grow all the way down to my tummy.  I told him that I used to wear it like that, but that I felt like I was getting too old for long hair.  He said that I wasn't old yet... that old starts at 40.  I told him that I was turning 37 in just a few weeks and he said, "that's not close to 40... thirty-nine and three quarters is close to 40."  It all looks a bit different from an eight year old perspective, doesn't it?

 

Mother's Day Came A Week Early!

A digital piano has been on my wish list years now!  Jeff spent a lot of time doing the research on what would work best for me.  We visited a few shops and tested them out, choosing a few models that we liked and then he did his amazing handiwork of finding a great deal.

He actually found one on Craigslist that was about two and a half hours away.  We got a sitter and headed up to get it last night around 6pm.  We had such a nice drive together that it didn't worry us so much that when we finally got there the model was a completely different one that what we expected.  We didn't buy it. Jeff tried to look at her listing again to see what went wrong, but she had already taken it down.  While he was searching he found a different one about 45 minutes from there (on our way home) that actually WAS the model (or at least much closer to) we were looking for.  He made some phone calls, we met some wonderful people and we came home with a piano after all.  Who knew that this guy who had tried listing his piano since December would get a phone call that someone wanted to pick it up at 10:30 at night one day in May.  :)  In all the searches Jeff has done he had never seen this listing.  It worked out wonderfully.

The boys have really enjoyed it this morning, especially all of the demo songs that are included.  I'm excited to get a few beginners books and see if they are willing to learn a bit... even Jeff wants to learn!
