Old picture, new story

Lincoln was looking at this picture this morning and said, "It's grandma with a baby... Mom, was grandpa a baby?" I tld him that the baby in the picture is Jackson and I think he got even more confused. He is getting the idea that people change ages, but is still really confused by it all. He hears me say, "when I was a little girl" and tries to figure out how I changed into something different. He was telling me the other day that if we gave a rock enough water and vegetables it could be a really big tree. He's getting close!

Organization!

I did a little exchange with a friend. I created a logo and postcard for her sister's new business, going into people's homes and helping them get organized. In exchange, she came over today and got both of my pantries into working order! I'm very excited as they were a bit of a mess. I was having trouble with what to do with the shelves because they are very deep and you can lose things way in the back! Here is some of her handiwork.

Whirlwind Weekend

It has been such a busy week and it started with a fun, but very busy weekend! We kept Jeff's sister's kids Friday and Saturday so that they could go take a quick anniversary trip. We had a great time with the cousins and visited three different parks within that 24 hour period! The kids wanted pancakes for dinner which was super easy for me and great to them. Everyone was happy... especially since we let them put whipped cream on top to make smiley faces like they do at IHOP.

After they left on Saturday it was time for Jackson's nap, so we hopped in the car for a "quick drive" to help him fall asleep (I do this everyday... it is the only way I've found to keep Lincoln from bothering him while he's trying to go to sleep!). We ended up deciding to go to the dollar movies as a family to see Bee Movie, hoping Jackson would continue his nap through the movie. The nap didn't really work out too well, but the kids did make it all the way through their first theater movie pretty well. We had to go and get popcorn about 2/3rds of the way through to keep their attention just a little bit longer.

I got a call during the movie that I returned on the way home and we ended up inviting some new friends, James and Virginia, from the ward over for dinner. They were a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed them too. Jackson even clung to her more than me by the end of the night! I'm really grateful to Virginia for the special attention she gave to Lincoln the next day in primary.

Sundays are always full now that I've been preparing the week's worth of lessons for seminary over at my parents house, and then they joined us for dinner over here.
