I think I just got my first insult from Jackson. He was playing with the buttons on one of my new throw pillows while he was laying down to sleep. I told him he couldn't play with it anymore because I'd asked him not to pull on the buttons. There was some begging. I said that maybe he could use that pillow tomorrow, but not tonight.
"that not a plan mom. me no want to wait til tomorrow. you no genius. that not good plan."
He's just started calling us "genius." I'm not sure where he learned it, but I thought it was hilarious that I've already been stripped of the title. Maybe I can earn it back tomorrow if I come up with a good plan for a snack.

Good Fortune
We treated ourselves to Chinese food tonight. The kids were really well behaved (surprisingly to me because they were so over-excited beforehand and on the way there!), ate well and we had a great time. They were so funny when we read our fortunes.
I read Lincoln's to him first... "You will win favors when you expand your social circle." He got really excited and said, "LET's DO THAT!"
Then I read Jackson's, "You will soon receive help from and unexpected source." His immediate response... "Ooooooh, me get to see SOURCE!"
I opened mine next, "Adjust finances - make budgets to improve your financial standing." Dad reacted first to this one, "Ooh! Let's DO THAT!"
Jeff's topped off the night, "An unexpected event will soon make your life more exciting." I'm looking forward to that new excitement (I think)... because I totally believe in the power of a fortune cookie.
